Dr. Yang is a diplomate of American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has been practicing psychiatry in the San Francisco, Bay Area since 1998. Dr. Yang obtained his MD degree from Taipei Medical College in Taiwan and a Ph.D. degree from University of Washington in Seattle. He received his psychiatric residency training at Stanford University Medical Center. He served as a team-leader psychiatrist at San Francisco General Hospital for 11 years and as a staff psychiatrist at San Mateo County Mental Health Services for 12 years. He is an emeritus clinical professor of psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco. He has a private practice in Burlingame, California.
Dr. Yang specializes in treating adult and elderly patients with various psychiatric disorders including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and other stress-related conditions. His clinical service includes psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. Dr. Yang has been a long-term meditation practitioner for over 35 years. His extensive personal inner work lays the foundation for him to provide compassionate care and guidance to patients who are interested in personal development. His bicultural background and fluency in Mandarin allow him to provide cultural competent services to bicultural patients and families.
